THOMAS BENNETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOOL UNIFORM CODE
Full school uniform and PE kit is compulsory for all students in Years 7 to 11 inclusive:
- TBCC blazer (compulsory)
- Plain white shirt (with TBCC logo or no logo). Shirt must be worn tucked in, (with top button done up)
- TBCC tie with stripe in house colour. Tie must be worn at all times, including during break and lunch
- Black trousers (Plain black, formal, tailored school trousers with pockets) or TBCC school skirt.
- Black tailored shorts
- Black shoes or trainers without logo or colour
- Plain tights or socks (black/navy/natural) from ankle length to knee length
- White socks
- A hijab, if worn, must be black or navy
- TBCC V-neck jumper (optional). We recommend that students have a TBCC V-neck jumper to wear under the blazer in colder weather as no other non-uniform tops are permitted
- Students wishing to wear a skirt must only wear the TBCC school skirt available from Sussex Uniforms. Skirts must be worn at knee length or just above
- Maximum of one stud earring in each ear
- Students wishing to wear outerwear should bring a coat or jacket in dark or neutral colours, ideally black or navy
The following are not permitted:
- Coloured or patterned t-shirts or tops visible underneath school shirts
- Cardigans/jumpers/non-school tops/hooded tops/sweatshirts
- Shorts (except PE) /cropped trousers/jogging bottoms/jeans/cargo/’skinny’ trousers/jeggings or leggings
- Boots or sandals
- Coloured or decorated socks or tights
- Denim jackets, cropped jackets
- Brightly coloured head scarves or large/brightly coloured hair accessories
- Headwear (unless for religious reasons), gloves or scarves worn inside the school buildings
- Necklaces, facial piercings, rings, multiple/large earrings, bracelets/bangles or decorative belts
- Extreme or unnatural hair colours or extreme hair styles (this includes dip dyed hair of any colour)
- Heavy makeup. Natural/ discrete colours only
- Coloured nails, or false nails (including acrylics or gels) or nail extensions
- False eyelashes
PE Kit
As of 19th of April 2021 the school has moved their PE Kit provider to GR Team Wear. Any PE items from now onwards must be purchased from here only.
If your child currently has the old PE kit from Sussex uniform (TBCC Polo Shirt, Shorts & Fleece) they can continue to wear these until they require a new KIT.

Please note:
- In the first instance, prohibited items brought in to school will be confiscated.
- Staff will not give warnings/chances before confiscation.
- Some items may be held until they can be returned to parents.
- If any uniform items are provided by the school, students must wear them.
- Persistent offenders will be withdrawn from lessons/sent home and parents will attend a meeting to discuss the student’s failure to follow school rules.
- Students repeatedly refusing to follow school rules may be excluded.
