About Sixth Form
Head of Sixth Form’s Welcome
I am delighted to welcome you to Thomas Bennett Community College; a unique place that has something special to offer its students; it is a truly comprehensive college, offering quality education that includes a range of A-level and vocational subjects. Our intent at Post-16 is to provide an inclusive and varied education which allows students to develop knowledge and skills needed for their future. This includes university/further education, apprenticeships and employment.
The Sixth Form has a very active student leadership team. There are a wide range of both super-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities available. We expect our students to make a contribution to the life of the rest of the college.
The Sixth Form occupies a distinct area within the College. The Sixth Form common room provides a comfortable and spacious environment in which students can study. We have state of the art ICT facilities which help students to keep on top of the demands of Post-16 coursework and homework. Students are supported in their study time through a dedicated Study Supervisor.
Our students have expressed that “the teaching is challenging and demanding,” but they appreciate that their teachers are “accessible and helpful if they have difficulties.”
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Sixth Form Team. At Sixth Form, more responsibility, and more opportunities. We look forward to seeing you take on this exciting challenge!
